Each replacement means lost time and additional costs. With the goal of maximizing their service life, a customer turned to <a class=\"unterstrichen\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rjl-microanalytic.de\/en\/analysenservice-mit-iso-17025-akkreditierung\/\">our accredited testing laboratory.<\/a><\/p><p>It is known that with increasing service life, particles can detach from the inner wall of the crucible and become embedded in the precious metal as foreign inclusions. Utilizing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rjl-microanalytic.de\/en\/sem-edx-rem-edx-analyse\/particlex-sem-edx-stahleinschlussanalyse-non-metallic-inclusions-in-steel\/\"><u>automated foreign inclusion analysis by SEM-EDX,<\/u><\/a> we have examined this process statistically and quantitatively with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rjl-microanalytic.de\/en\/instrumente\/thermo-phenom-particlex-sem-edx-partikelanalyse-cleanliness-gsr-steel-inclusions-powders\/\"><u>Phenom ParticleX<\/u><\/a> .<\/p><p>One aspect of this analysis was particularly tricky. The EDX energy lines of the crucible material showed significant overlap with those of the precious metal, making robust quantification of the inclusions difficult.
