Advent greetings from our testing laboratory

We wish you and your families a Merry Christmas and a healthy 2024.

Please note that our testing laboratory will be closed from December 27th, 2023 to January 5th, 2024 and our secretariat will only be accessible to a limited extent during this time.

The picture shows a beautiful particle of potassium chloride crystals (potash). It is one of many particles that we extracted from the surface of an aluminum component during the residual dirt analysis. The crystal is formed from a reaction of the perchlor cleaner with the potassium-containing flux used in soldering aluminum.

The microparticle is 125 µm in size, we have the recording and the spectral element analysis from our workhorse, the  ASPEX SEM-EDX particle analyzer carried out at 750x magnification.
