Bruker microCT has published a very interesting video about the new new 3D X-ray microscope SkyScan 2214. The video shows the amazing possibilities of non-destructive 3D imaging down to the sub-micrometer range.
Bruker Micro-CT
High Aspect Ratio Tomography for samples with a high aspect ratio
Bruker has developed a special scan mode for samples with a high aspect ratio for the latest generation of SkyScan micro-CT devices. Objects of this type are characterized by a high ratio of length to width and always present users of microtomography with challenges.
SkyScan 1273 - the new micro CT table top unit for extra-large samples
With the new SkyScan 1273 Bruker presents a high-resolution X-ray 3D microscope for large samples in the form of a table. XXL objects up to 50 cm x 30 cm can be accommodated in the measuring chamber, the largest field of view is 25 cm x 25 cm.
New beetle species in Baltic amber discovered by Micro-CT
Our customer Dr. Arnold Staniczek and his team from the State Museum of Natural History in Stuttgart recently achieved a scientific sensation.
New SkyScan Nano-CT enables the scanning of an object's interior
The new Nano-CT from the SkyScan family impresses with its outstanding optical resolution of less than 0.5 μm and a wide range of applications.
Micro-CT in zoological studies
A look into the inside of an insect's skull - what used to be possible only for zoologists by means of a histological examination can be conveniently realized on the basis of microtomography with multiple magnification and a 3D view. We examined the sample presented here in a SkyScan 1272 micro-CT with a resolution of 1 μm / voxel and [...]
Development of modern medicine supported by microtomography
A drug, such as a painkiller, should act reliably and always release the drug in a certain period of time. A decisive factor for this is the active substance content and a reproducible release kinetics. The latter depends on the structural composition of the drug, in particular on the spatial distribution and sizes of the drug particles and the formulation auxiliaries. With a micro-CT we can scan tablets nondestructively [...]
A glance into the interior of unique samples provided by X-Ray microtomography
The discovery of a mummy or unique artifacts of human history is a sensation because it forms part of the cultural heritage. For many investigations, however, a damage of the object, for example in the form of a sampling is required, the preservation of the find for science is no longer guaranteed. With X-ray microtomography, archaeologists and representatives of related [...]
Quality control of castings by microtomography
The quality standards in the processing of aluminum castings are very high. Especially in the automotive and aerospace industries, these parts must be extremely resilient, processing errors would endanger safety and longevity. For the quality control in the industry, the use of X-ray computed tomography has been proven in recent years. This is on the one hand for the metrological investigation of [...]
Paradigm shift in resolution
Bruker microCT has unveiled the new SkyScan 1276 in-vivo micro-CT at WMIC 2016. The device sets standards in terms of spatial resolution and scanning speed. fastest scan in 3.9 seconds smallest voxel size 2.8 μm (isotropic) spiral scan mode without ring artifacts The instrument can be operated via touch screen and offers an on-screen dosimenter to reduce the radiation dose [...]
