New procedure established in the test laboratory: Analysis of the residual moisture of coolers

Customers have repeatedly asked us whether we can determine the residual moisture in coolers. We have now equipped our laboratory with a device for analyzing residual moisture and offer this test as standard. We have already successfully carried out the first tests on behalf of customers.

The analysis is carried out using the coulometric Karl Fischer titration and is based on the standards JIS K0068:2001 and ISO 760.

Using a highly reactive solution, the so-called reagent, we rinse the surface of the test object and extract the moisture contained therein. The reagent with the moisture is then sealed in an airtight container. We take several samples with a syringe and let them evaporate using the coulometric tritator. In this way, we determine the exact value of the residual moisture, from which the previously determined blank value of the reagent solution is subtracted. The weight of the residual moisture is given in mg/A or mg/V.

The need for such testing is great, as residual moisture in devices, such as coolers, can significantly affect performance. We are therefore pleased that we can carry out this procedure in our testing laboratory. Join us Contact if you are interested in this testing service.
